The company recognises its legal requirement to ensure the health, safety and welfare of all employees whilst protecting others who may be affected by its activities. The company will ensure co-operation with Clients, CDM Co-ordinators the Health and Safety Executive, Safety Professionals, Suppliers and Sub-Contractors to as far as is reasonably practicable ensure that systems and procedures are compliant. It is company policy to provide an environment under which safe working practices will progress. In addition all employees are reminded of their legal duty of care to carry out work in a safe manner and to fully co-operate with the management in efforts made to create a safe working environment. The company will ensure that the necessary inductions, training & supervision will be provided to encourage employees at all levels to carry out their responsibilities in a safe manner and will make reasonable efforts to promote a safe working culture and understanding of safe working practices. The company will establish appropriate documentation and accountability for health, safety and welfare. Systems of identification and assessment of hazards will be made with effective control policies introduced, monitored and audited. Sub-contractors will require a company health, safety and welfare policy that will have been proved satisfactory to Friel Construction. The company will encourage consultation from all levels of employees and sub-contractors on health safety and welfare matters and will promote co-operation to pursue high standards and continuous improvement. External professionals are appointed to advise on health, safety and welfare matters to ensure that the company is in full compliance with all current health, safety and welfare legislation and have appointed Mr D Galligan as internal Health and Safety Manager having particular responsibility and to whom reference should be made in regard to the company health, safety and welfare policy. This statement will be reviewed periodically and as new legislation is introduced. |
